Castilla put another point on the board in their trip to the Estadio Municipal Matapiñonera, a result that keeps their play-off hopes firmly intact. José Manuel Díaz’s charges twice went behind, at the start and end of an opening 45 minutes in which the madridistas were the better side. Dani Gómez struck to draw the visitors level and after once again falling behind, Castilla kept plugging away in search of an equaliser, which came on the back of numerous set pieces.
After a bright opening from the hosts, Castilla took the sting out of things and levelled in the 12th minute with their first chance of the afternoon.
Cristo drove forward and picked out De Frutos in the box and his pass was turned home from point-blank range by Dani Gómez. In the 20th minute, Fidalgo came close to adding a second when his strike narrowly missed the top corner, before he had an effort chalked off for offside.
The Madrid second string were laying siege to the hosts’ goal, but in the final move of the first half San Sebastián de los Reyes restored their lead.
